About

June 11-16, 2017

The Chamber Music Workshop provides a unique learning and performing experience for musicians from intermediate to professional levels. The workshop aims to provide exposure to a wide variety of chamber music literature; to stimulate sensitive ensemble playing; and to create the elements of fine musicianship through sight-reading, performing, listening and free-lancing. Our faculty coaches will direct participants to achieve progress toward excellence in daily chamber music performances in an informal atmosphere.

A relatively new part of our weekly course is a scholarship program for promising young students.  Interested students or their teachers may contact us for further information.  Several generous donors have funded these scholarships over the last two years.

The historic Swannanoa Chamber Music Festival (http://www.swannanoachambermusic.com/) welcomes this workshop to Warren Wilson College’s beautiful campus. The facilities include convenient dormitories, a good dining hall, various practice rooms, and a large recital hall.  The workshop is a program of the Swannanoa Chamber Music Festival.
